That Lean and Hungry Look

In That Lean and Hungry Look, Britt is outspoken about how she feels about thin people, and fat people. According to her, thin people do not enjoy life, and are too critical. According to her, fat people know how to enjoy life. I think the audience are the ones who are torn when reading this essay. Britt really tries to influence on us that being overweight is a desirable way of life. What are we supposed to believe? How are we supposed to feel about thin, and fat people? Is Britt correct in her justifications? Are thin people really too uptight? Is being fat an essentially good thing?
One passage that I really did agree with was in paragraph 12, when she states of fat people "They will like you even if you're irregular and have acne." It sounds horrible, but obviouisly acne and fat are not things society finds overall desirable. I think people who suffer behind these problems can benefit from interacting with one another, because maybe they will inspire each other to accept themselves for who they really are.

I totally disagree with everything the Brit person is telling the readers. Brit is sticking up for fat people because they have become such a talk about thing now in America and so Brit had to write something to make herself feel better about the situation. Fat people and thin obviously are different in the shape category but not personality. If you have an eating disoder such as being too think or too fat, yes you are either depressed or lazy.

Good writing i felt the same way when reading this i was very torn it was almost in a way sad that people have these ideas about being fat and being thin, i do wonder though if her opinions are in fact somewhat true

In todays society people are very judgemental of looks. I don't think that just because a person is thin or fat makes them any better or worse of a person but some times a persons looks can make them egotistical and cause them to me more judgemental. This writting is probably based on stereotypes and isn't trying to say that all thin people are the same.

I agree, I think the writing is all based on stereotypes and is trying to make fat people feel better about being fat.
